Proactive Thinking Activity (SOS)

Introduction

Positive thinking can go a long way. Sometimes the difference between a good and a bad day depends on the type of ideas and thoughts we focus on. With that said, this activity is meant to encourage the participant to focus on positive self-statements to lessen negative thinking.

How it works

Create a list of positive self-statements you can recite to yourself whenever you are feeling negative. Try to think about what you would say to support someone with the same struggles and apply it to yourself. These self-statements can be quotes, things people have said to you in the past, passages from books, song lyrics, etc. You should have at least 5 self-statements on your list.
